Day 14

I've gone 315 miles, and yet again I am ahead of schedule by 1 day so I'm resting for half a day and then going to take 2 easy days.  My body is doing great and I can't wait for the Angeles Forest section.  Here are some pics from mile 210 to 315.

Day 12 almost to Big Bear

Hello everyone I've made it to mile 258, 8 miles before I cross Hwy 18 near Baldwin Lake.  I have seen some lions,  tigers and bears, but don't worry they were all in cages.  Today I also got my first dose of trail magic and after leaving Ziggy and the Bears house, a hiker named Hot Pants gave me a trail name, The Grateful Red.

Meeting up Information

If any one was planning on meeting up with me anywhere it would be easiest to text me because most night I get low cell service but not enough to access internet very well.  Also I may get drastically off schedule again sorry about that.  My number is 760-403-5917 if you don't have it.  Wish me luck.

Rest days

I was picked up by my mom at the paradise cafe to rest a few days.  My reasoning is that I need to stay on schedule so I don't get to Kennedy Meadows too early, and also I had a blister form under the cut on my left foot.  I nee to take care of my feet so they don't get worse, I am just surprised I could still hike an average of 26 miles a day with this injury, my only fear is after it heals I'll hike too fast!

Day 6

I got to the paradise cafe at mile 153 on day 6, Here I ran into 5 thru-hikers hitching to Idyllwild. On day 5 I ran into rain on Combs peak but it soon turned to hail.  I had to camp in rain and hail, man the weather has been strange.  So far I have experienced highs above 100, lows below 40, winds over 80 mph, and now rain and hail all in 5 days. I am 3 days ahead of schedule since I was supposed to be in Idyllwild on 5/25 not 5/23 and I don't have 5/27 on my schedule oops. Here is some pics from days 5 and 6.

section A finished

I finished section A the first 110 miles in 4 days.  That was a day faster than I had planned.  I saw lots of animals but only one thru-hiker who was on day 8 when I was on day 3.  Here are some more photos from section A.

I have just reached the summit of Mt.  Laguna at mile 43.  Yesturday was extremely tough for me but today was much easier.  I hope my shoulder sunburn and cut left foot I got at Mission Bay go away soon.  Here are some photos.

A note about Water and me Blogging

Hello, a lot of people noticed that I have water marks at the campsites.  These campsites came from a bigger list that included additional campsites and any place that had water, in case I needed to camp elsewhere.  I will not be going three or four days without water as some had thought, so do not be alarmed.

Also I will need cell reception or WIFI access to Blog on the trail.  If I go days or max two weeks without posting do not be alarmed.  I should be able to post at each resupply at the very minimum.  Thank you for your patience and please don't send helicopters and search parties after me unless I haven't posted in over three weeks because sometimes I might forget.

The first of many Goodbyes

Today marked the last day I would work ever.  Just kidding, but I am going to miss all the wonderful people that I have meat over the years at the warehouse.  Hope you guys can get along without all the secondary perspectives that Hippie Jeff has given over the years.  I also hope that if anyone wants to they can come and meet me on the Trail.
